BVI FSC and Registry restore full functionality

12/09/2017

Harneys is pleased to announce that the BVI Financial Services Commission (FSC) and the Registry of Corporate Affairs (Registry) have restored full functionality in the wake of Hurricane Irma, the most devastating storm the BVI has ever seen.

The FSC has opened its online company registration portal VIRRGIN so it is accessible outside of the BVI for the first time and the Registry is open as usual for incorporations, filings and company searches.

Work is also continuing to address the issues regarding legal and related services out of the BVI and the functioning of the BVI-based Commercial Division of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

The FSC and Registry continue to ask for patience as the BVI recovers from Hurricane Irma.

While we continue to work towards reopening Harneys’ BVI office, our teams in Cayman, Hong Kong and Montevideo can provide full service to our clients in relation to BVI Corporate and Trust services.

Our other 12 offices remain open and are operating normally and can handle any new or existing matters which might ordinarily be dealt with by our BVI office.
