We have to follow a specific protocol when adding press contacts to ensure that our media lists are current, that we are sending press releases to the right people, and that we can always segregate our press contacts from other types of contacts.

 

Harneys stores two types of press contacts in Sugar: editorial and sales. We keep these types of contacts separate because their roles are different and our interactions with them should be different.

 

Press contacts in Sugar are designated using the Contact Type field in the contact record. Editorial contacts are categorised as Press while advertising contacts are categorised as Sales.

 

Marketing Users of Sugar are able to use filter search to prepare a mailing list and send press releases, all within Sugar. Being able to put together a reliable press mailing list is contingent on press contacts being added properly.
